Site-specific sound installation for the historical "sun-bathing spa" in Luhačovice, Czechia. The main idea of the work was to decontextualize the sounds of the spa's own environment and to experiment with contrasting listening situations, dealing with intimacy and public listening. All sounds were recorded over several days and nights in various parts of the spa, then processed and reproduced in two distinct listening positions: three small drawers hidden in the changing cubicles along the spa, versus a public address system evoking the village broadcasting systems of the past. Conceptually, the authors were fascinated by the fact that the spa is currently essentially dead, since its main attraction—the swimming pool—is unfit for swimming due to contamination by harmful plants. They examined the possible return of clear water, the river from which the water is sourced, and the general idea of resuscitation and rejuvenation. That is why many of the sounds were recorded in the water itself, bringing them to the attention of visitors and listeners. **Location:** Sluneční lázně, Luhačovice, Czechia **Date:** `2017-06-29 → 2017-07-02` **Collaboration:** Alexandra Cihanská Machová **Riečně – Amplióny** (original track played through the PA) <html><iframe src="https://archive.org/embed/ampliony" width="640" height="30" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="true" mozallowfullscreen="true" allowfullscreen></iframe></html> ![[riecne.jpg]] ![[riecne_2.jpg]] ![[riecne_3.jpg]] ![[riecne_4.jpg]] ![[riecne_5.jpg]] Drawer photo © Marcel
